Pink Floyd‬ leader’s solo work Rattle That Lock due in time for September tour
Pink Floyd leader David Gilmour as revealed the title of his next solo album – it’s called Rattle That Lock.
It includes tracks provisionally called Girl With A Yellow Dress and Just Do It, and features contributions from Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera and Jools Holland.
‪Gilmour and wife Polly Samson, who wrote the album’s lyrics, discussed the work at the Borris House Festival Of Writing And Ideas in Ireland over the weekend.
BrainDamage reports that Samson said the theme was “Carpe diem – seize every moment, look to the future, ‘Just Do It’ and don’t hold back.”
Meanwhile, Gilmour, who’s previously said that Floyd’s 2014 album The Endless River was their last, and he had “no room” for the band in his future.

Noel Gallagher criticizes amateur band for giving him an unnamed demo CD  G allgher stopped midway through his High Flying Birds show at the Boston Opera House on Saturday (June 6) to educate the band on proper demo CD behavior. "When you’re giving away CDs of your shit," Gallagher began, "there’s not even a fucking name of who it is, or what it’s called, or a phone number, or nothing. No song titles, no name, no nothing. Now unless this is some psychedelic fucking album project, I’m saying, this cunt’s going nowhere. Thank you very much."    Gallagher asked the band’s name, to which they replied "The Memo." "The invisible man? No.. the Memo?" he continued. "Do you fucking get the irony of that? A CD with nothing written on it by somebody called the Memo. Fucking hell don’t make me say it."

  A pple announce new music streaming service, Apple Music   The service was announced at the end of the speech, with Apple CEO Tim Cook saying: "Before we close this morning, we do have one more thing… we do love music." A video of "the history of music" then played. "It will change the way you experience music forever," Cook continued. He then introduced Jimmy Iovine, who has worked with the likes of Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen, saying: "I'd like to bring up someone who knows more about music and the experience of music than anyone I know."
